Frequently Asked Questions
You need one fewer cable than the number of pedals in your signal chain. For example, 6 pedals need 5 patch cables to connect them in series. Add one or two spares for failures or future pedal additions.
Right-angle (pancake) connectors are standard for pedalboards because they save space and allow pedals to sit closer together. Straight connectors are common in rack setups where the extra clearance is not an issue.
For boards with more than 5-6 pedals, solderless kits are excellent. They let you cut cables to exact lengths, reducing clutter and noise. Brands like Evidence Audio, Lava Cable and Free The Tone make reliable solderless systems. They cost more upfront but save time and space.
