UK mains voltage is 230V nominal. A standard UK 13A socket can supply up to 230 × 13 = 2,990W (~3kW).
This assumes a unity power factor (PF = 1), which is an optimistic estimate. Real studio gear uses switched-mode power supplies with a power factor of roughly 0.6–0.95, so true RMS line current can be slightly higher than Watts / Voltage. For loads with a known power factor, divide again by PF: Amps = Watts / (Voltage × PF).

Frequently Asked Questions
A typical home studio draws 500-1500W: computer (300-500W), display (50-100W), audio interface (20-50W), studio monitors (50-200W), and misc gear (100-300W). This fits comfortably on a standard UK 13A socket (~3kW).
For a home studio on a single ring circuit, usually not. But if you have high-powered amplifiers, multiple computers, or rack-mounted outboard gear, a dedicated circuit prevents tripping breakers and reduces the chance of electrical noise from other appliances on the same circuit.
A UPS protects against power cuts and provides clean power. For a computer-based studio, a 1000-1500VA UPS is recommended to safely shut down during outages. It also protects against voltage spikes and brownouts that can damage equipment or corrupt audio files.
Use a dedicated circuit with no other high-draw appliances. Use a power conditioner or filtered power strip. Keep audio cables away from power cables. Use balanced audio connections. Ground all equipment properly. Consider a technical earth for the studio.
